Olga Mazurenok 2nd at European 10,000m Cup in Minsk

Olga Mazurenok of Belarus finished second at the European 10,000m Cup in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian covered the distance in 32:13.73, finishing behind Sara Moreira of Portugal (32:03.57).

“It was difficult to compete with the Portuguese runner. She is the European leader. Sara Moreira was even unhappy with the time she showed in Minsk. The Belarusians were more focused on the team result, and did well,” Olga Mazurenok said.

Last year's champion Esma Aydemir of Turkey came in third, clocking the time of 32:41.03.

The Belarusian team topped the overall women's team standings.

Apart from Olga Mazurenok, two more Belarusian runners made it to the top ten.
