Belarus, China to introduce visa-free travel in autumn 2018The visa-free travel between Belarus and China will take effect somewhere in October-November 2018, BelTA learned from senior adviser at the main consular department of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yaroslav Khmyl.
According to the diplomat, it is impossible for now to name the concrete date for the visa-free travel between Belarus and China to go online.
“Usually, such agreements come into force after all domestic procedures are implemented. In this very case it will be its ratification. The parliamentary session will end in two weeks. We will try to meet the deadline. If not, it will be done during the next session in October-November 2018,” he explained.
Belarusians will be able to stay in China visa free for up to 30 days during one trip, but not more than 90 days a year.
The same rule will apply to Chinese citizens.
“If a person wants to stay in the country for more than 30 days or engage in educational and professional activities, he or she will need a special visa. Visa-free travel will cover private trips, business trips, and tourist trips,” Yaroslav Khmyl said.
The intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa-free travel for ordinary citizens of Belarus and China was signed in Qingdao on 10 June during the working visit of the President of Belarus to China.
